The valley of Jostedalen shows magnificient scenery which was carved and shaped mainly by glacier erosion, forming valleys, hanging valleys and mountain passes. The main valley here is Jostedalen. This valley now is surrounded by two national parks, the Jostedalbreen and the Breheimen. The glacier and the park get their name from this long valley.
